Where did he go? :-)
Wow 5 months with no posts?!!
I´m still here though, and I´m still into volkswagens and accessories....
Since my last post I got a few quite rare parts. The first was s nos rear overhead net. The second is a super rare cabin divider, as far as I Know there is only 6 of these known in the world, but I guess there is lying in an old shed somewhere?

VDO speed warner
I added a new accessory to the oval, a VDO speedwarner/geschwindigkeitswarner.
This hooks up to the speedo cable, then you can set it at the decired speed and when you go faster than that it lights up red and buzzes. You really need this with a hot 30/36hp in the back right :-)
The bracket is homemade then I only had drill one hole for the cable to go through.
They are still out there.....
The other day a danish vw entusiast found this 34/40hp Okrasa set.
It had been lying at a old vw mechanic since the mid 60ies, how crazy is that??
This proves there is still great deals and rare parts out there, good luck hunting!

1Mai treffen Hannover
Once again we headed for Hannover the 1Mai treffen.
This year I was riding shotgun in Jens 54 ragtop, and it drove the 480km each way flawlessly!
The show and swapmeet seemed bigger than ever, and also managed to find a couple of nice parts.
Jens and our friend Jesper both won a TOP 15 award crongrats guys, it was well deserved!

54 Looker
I recently visited my friend Brian, his 54 ragtop had just returned from the painter after it had ben there for 1 year!
And I must say that paint job is awesowe!! My cellphone picture doesn´t do it justice.
Brian owned this 54 since 1993, and now it will soon be ready to hit the danish streets again.
Watch this space for updates, and Brain keep up the good work!

New options
Well since the oval has been locked up since late september because of the danish winter, I´ve had way to much time searching the web and visiting volkswagen friends,
The result is some more accossireies has been mounted.........
GHE flower vase bracket.
Motometer outside temp gauge (I´m looking for in/out version if anybody has one of those?)
SWF lighted DK sign.
And new mudflaps with a combined VW and 1200 logo.
I´m glad the spring is lurking around the corner then I can use my money on gas instead :-)

Burried alive
Last december a rare beast saw daylight for the first time in 44years.
It was a 1953 15 window hardtop samba deluxe, this had been burried in a danish gravel pit back in 1967.
Some good friends of mine had heard rumors of this car and then the hunt was on. And last december the had some heavy machinery help them dig it out, and here are the remains. Despite the many years burried it isn´t to rusty, but the fact that the bus was covered with big rocks, before covered in soil, they has made some serious damage to the body.
Rumors are this might will be rebuild.

Breaking point
At our trip to the US back in the fall I stumpled over a complete rear set of 356A brakes at a very good price.
So while we drove around with them in the trunk some good friends turned up with the missing front pieces. So while they were shipped to me the rear ones came home in my luagage.
And after some work all wheel cylindres were restored and there were new lining on the brake shoes.
The front ones is allready installed on the oval and the rear ones goes on a restored gearbox that I have lying, and it will be going in the oval in a couple of years.

Webasto winddeflector
I recently found one of these Webasto winddeflectors. I had the Aeroflex one allready but I thought this was more cool, and it´s always in the car unlike the Aeroflex that you have to have inside the car when it´s not in use, or lying in the garage.
Biggest issue with the Webasto was drilling the holes in the roof, hey I did it.
If you look in the pictures you might noticed that I also added a Hella fan. This one was found with a homemade bracket so it mounts behind the rearview mirror, I guess some clever guy made it back in the days as he wasn´t happy with the suction cup mount.
