Express progress part 3

Well I finally came around to get the express engine stuffed in the back of the oval. That ment the fram filter and the carbs needed to come of, otherwise there were no chance i would get it in there!
But with the help of Jens the job went pretty straight forward, so now it sits where it belongs.
The eagleeyed reader will notice some differences on the engine. First of all the fram filter is now painted silver, I think it suits the engine better, but further more I have mounted a Porsche 356 oil filler/breather, my theory is that it will work as some sort of breather box, and as a bonus it gives a nice look to the engine.
Now I only need to decide if i´m going to run the stock 54-55 oil bath aircleaners, or with the stacks, tough call huah?
As a side note I can tell that I have booked a time for dyno in the end of march, so that everything can get adjusted properly.

Accessory time

First of all sorry for the missing updates lately, but the new year started with me being sick for a week, and after that I really need some whrenching time.
The only good thing about beeing sick is that you have a lot of spare time to surf the web, and that is just how I was lucky enough to find this NOS set of GHE raindeflectors.
I´ve wanted a pair of these for some time and suddently they were there.
And as soon as I got better I headed for the John Doe garage to get them mounted on the car

Brazilian foglights

My new brazilian friend Amauri just send me these pictures of his cool accessorized 64. You might wan´t to pay his front bumber some special attention!
These are special brazilian made bumbers with integreted bumber guards/foglights, these are truly a rarest of the rare piece and Amauri tells me that he had to source the diffrent parts to complete one bumber, as far as 1200km from his home.
You won´t see many of these that´s for sure!

The other day I saw Jens´car with it´s new color for the first time, and I really liked it! He had painted it the night before (I don´t know what it is with that guy and working in the night time, but it apparently works for him :-) )

Accessory brochure from the 50ies

In the fall I traded some parts for a pretty cool accessory brochure from the mid   50ies, it´s from a dansih VW dealer located in Aalborg. I decided that it just was to good not share, so I will post some scans of the pages each month. Here is an appetiser.
Once again I wish I had that damn timemachine in the garage, how about batwing hornring for a little under 5 euro´s. Or a complete Motometer rally gauge set for 30 euro? Or finnaly a collapseble gear shifter for under 6 euro, by the way I really need one of those shifters for the oval, so please send me a email if got lying around.
